Two faculty members of IU School of Social Work to be inducted into FACET March 17, 2008 - The Indiana University School of Social Work will have two faculty members inducted into FACET this spring.
Dr. Sabrina Williamson will join Dr. Kathy Lay in being inducted into Indiana University’s Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching.
Williamson received her PhD in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the spring of 2003 and joined the IU faculty in the fall of 2003. She teaches practice, policy and theory classes in the BSW program on the Bloomington Campus.
FACET was established as an Indiana University Presidential Initiative in 1989 to promote and sustain teaching excellence. Each year about 20 to 25 candidates from across the IU campuses from various disciplines are selected as new members.
Both faculty members are being recognized for their “outstanding teaching and their concerns with student learning outcomes,” said Katharine Byers, the BSW Program Director in Bloomington.
“We are fortunate to have these two fine women on our faculty and are grateful for the work that they do in helping our students learn the skills they need to be outstanding social workers,” Byers said.
